That technique will work in any lake. I've used it from main to Southern California. It just will catch fish when nothing else will and it has to be a rapala. For whatever reason imitators just don't perform nearly as well. And I don't work for rapala! Lol

As the weather gets hotter all the lakes up this way form algae. And does make much harder to fish.

Have done well off the dock for trout. Power bait, eggs, worms, lures have all worked. I fish early. Most rainbows I've gotten are 13 to 25".

Which Rapala type? I fished (trolling) Dogtown Lake near Williams Friday and Saturday. Friday caught limit with misc. lures. Saturday hardly a bite. Fish looking one? What length?

Not so, BUT, it has to be a FLOATING, SHALLOW diving crank bait. 3-5’ diver and a slow retrieve. I like Square Bills for this technique. Pause often or when hitting something.
