Back out today windy as usually and a lot cooler but I did manage a few ( 11) . Some solid 2+ #ers. My hook up are getting better the frog is mostly deep and in the roof of their mouths. Been a busy week so it was nice to get out and relax. I hope this cool windy weather doesn't follow me to the M&G😜. I prefer it hot and sunny 85-90 degrees is ok by me. Here's some pics.πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²

I don't do too bad at 80 but 90 is out of my range. 9 more days and I'll be on the road. Might even get a little fishing time on that Monday. Nice looking catch. One of these days I'll have to try out the frogs I have in my tackle.

Nice catching Frogman! I'll be happy with 80Β°-85Β° , but anything over 75Β° is good. Thanks for the pictures.

Nice fish Andy, come on down to Florida and try some of this high 90*
The last week has been well over 100* feel like weather the news say but they haven't been out in it, more like 115* 🫠 I'v been doing some electrical work outside this week for a good friend of mine and had to change my shirt before lunch, I looked like I've been swimming. The bass are already parley cooked when you do get one to bite🎣🎣

In my younger days I used to live and roof in Panama City Beach and also worked in a machine shop in Houston Texas. Moving back to Pa I worked in the hot roll mill in a steel mill and construction. The high heat really never affected me . The cold???? I can do without thank you. For everyone it's different but I always have a change of clothes because I sweat a lot. Back then I didn't get to fish either state. πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²

I've always figured I could put another layer on but could only take so much off. Anything over 85 basically puts me in a coma or a pool.

I can handle the cold Andy. You can always put on more clothes. When it gets hot,you can only take so much off before you get arrested

I find after multiple surgeries to repair , reconstruct, and replace body parts in various locations that keep me ambulatory the heat allows a more fluid movement and less pain than the cold which just tends to make everything less enjoyable. But I do highly respect anyone's comfort zone as their personal choice and comfort. Too many clothes makes it harder to move than the accumulated extra ( fat) weight. What is your advice for hook set delay on a frog? I always tend to jerk it away from them the instant they hit.
I do have good luck on a 2 inch floating
"Turd" worm.

Fishing rod, On the delay hooksets, this is something I've implemented this season. I tell myself every cast as I get ready for those first twitches after letting the rings settle ( this is when 90% of strikes happen) "Let-Him-Have- It". So right after the blow up say this in your mind( or if no one is around out loud) then "LET HIM HAVE IT" as you " Rips his Lips off". Try to remember to reel down while you wait that brief moment then DO NOT, DO NOT give him any slack not the slightest amount or the chances of him throwing those hooks becomes greater. Alot of times the hooks come out in the net without touching the fish. I don't know how they do it but they get them out a lot. Perhaps you may want to bend the hooks up and out a little? Most frogs come with the hooks really pinched in toward the center , it's great for not getting weeds but it also works for not getting good hooksets. I don't mind pulling weeds or slime off after a couple casts into slime or pads . I'd much rather do that and get good hooksets than keep missing fish. So after you land a fish on a frog pay very close attention to the location of the hooks. If they're up near the mouth you most likely Riped too soon. If they're deep in the mouth and in the roof of the mouth perfect set reach in and pop the loose. Fortunately the bigger Bass ( 3# and up usually inhale pretty deep if you give them that wait but sometimes they hit while you're reeling it in close to the boat and you're on your own there. I've caught a bunch just a few feet from my yac and fortunately I still have a strong heart. Hope this helps don't get discouraged I still miss a bunch too. But hey they're always bigger when you miss em!!!😜. Just keep telling yourself the wait. And Never,Never take you eyes off the frog some of the bigger ones just slurp them down and don't make a sound.!,πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²

Good advice, i will work on it. I usually wait a second on a wacky rig. Tighten any slack then set up.
