I use them on down riggers for King Mackerel.

Ribbon or Cutlass fish. Fillet, taking off the skin as well and wrap into a coil with crabmeat inside, it's REALLY good. Since we haven't had any rain the salinity is high so they're moving northward following food.

Excellent on the table. Used to be considered "trash" fish by most except many Asians. Just like many other so-called trash fish, a few tried them and others followed. Now considered excellent. We recently saw them selling for over $8.00 a pound in an Asian market We first ate them, or some very similar species, in Australia.

I caught one back in the late 80s down in Hatteras. Hadnt caught one until a few years ago me and another guy probably had over 25 out near the old grounds while flounder fishing. Seems they have moved into our near shore waters in great numbers. I see almost every seebass trip headboats are catching a few.

We started catching them in the Chincoteague channel a few years ago. Guess they are moving north.
