Try the I-bobber tool it works actually very well and you can cast it to search for fish :-)
The phone app is easy to use and No I do not work for them but got one two years ago for Fathers Day and have not been disappointed.

I have been happily using a Garmin Striker 4 during the past several years with a kayak...pretty much since that original model came out. I believe they still offer that unit nowadays, only with modern improvements...so you need to be careful about what model you might purchase to make sure it is most current. I think the main improvements are with the transducer capabilities.
The price point was around $100.
I also happen to use a Garmin Echo Map plus 43CV which has very nice sonar for marking fish better, as well as making 3D custom map scans of the bottom. Mine was purchased right when they planned to discontinue the model from their product line so if you are looking for one it might need to be "NOS" new old stock from a vendor. The price may be closer to your $200 mark.
Both of these Garmin models have done very well for me.
You can’t go wrong with the Garmin!
Garmin striker 4 has everything u need. Can’t beat the price. 🤙
I agree the Striker 4 is a great little unit for the price.

I find that water 20 feet deep. or so, is about what's needed to get the info I want. My Hummingbird paranamax is about $100 and works well for me.
