Did you go on a privatee boat or charter. If charter, which one? Was that a beach launch? Nice catch. Were they caught onpait or jigs?

We had a charter—the two of us plus another two people. Captain Damon was the crew. We hired him through RW’s Fishing and Big Eddy Resort in Soldotna. Captain Damon also works with the Kenai Riverbend Resort. They’re about a mile away from each other in the Kenai River. We’ve stayed at Kenai Riverbend Resort last year for a trip too. Both are pretty decent places and have good guides.

Great pics and fish Bryan! I’ll be in Soldotna week after next fishing for sockeyes and we have a 1 day charter for halibut scheduled as well! Your post gives me faith that I will be bringing some halibut back home. We’re using Fishing Fool Charters launching (beach) out at Anchor Point or Deep Creek near Ninilchik. How many pounds of filets did you end up with?
