I am new to Indiana and live near Indianapolis and curious to where are some good bank fishing spots for catfish near Indianapolis.

Driftwood Rec area south of Greenwood on US31. THe entrance is about 1/2 mile south on Hwy 252 the goes into Edinburgh. Good luck

You my not believe it. But the White River is a great place for catfish. 15-20 years ago would not have said that. It’s clean and the fishing is good. You can get access along White River Parkway off of 16th street. Even south of Washington Street is some good fishing

Is there still or was there a do not eat warning for White river near Indy? I’m still pretty new here too.

I can’t speak for the catfish , but you can fish Plover pit too which is near Driftwood Rec.

I looked in the Indiana Fishing Guide. I didn’t see anything about not eating fish from the White River. I know when we do fish it. It’s south of 465 near SR.144. That’s where we put the boat in.
