Hi PapaD,
I had some other questions based on what you shared.
1) How does the tidal coefficient affect fishing for halibut? I understand that it is how big or small the tides change, but why does that matter for fishing?
2) Also, I've read that some recommend bait oil or scents to attract halibut. Even though halibut attack first by sight, I'm wondering is there any merit to using scents? Is it worth investing in some bait oils such as pro cure?
Thanks so much.
A higher tidal coefficient will get the prey/bait fish moving more.
Since the halibut pretty much stay put waiting to ambush, I don't think scents would increase the odds of a bite.
