Just retired new to the site, live out on the eastern Colorado prairie and want to start fishing again now that I have time... mainly fishing from shore with the Grandkids.... looking for some easy / good places to fish at . Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks for your time, Joe

Welcome, Grandpa, to the Stage. Grandkids pix are the BEST, just seein' those beaming faces enjoying their catch, and their time with Grands is sooooo sweet. How many do you take at one time ? Gotta be spry to keep up with 2, can't imagine 3 or more. Even with little legs, they're deceptively quick.
I'm not familiar with your region, so I'll be of no help, but it should be along soon. Lotsa "mature" anglers here, and most of us are real suckers for children.
Nice to have you aboard.
North or South of 1-70 N. Sterling Res S John Martain Res there are lot's more. Dont have time to list all ,But you can check out the fishing reg's from D.P.W.
Lake hasty below the John Martin spillway has some amazing fish and a relaxed-pull your car up to the lake and drop in a Line atmosphere. I went often with family and friends, and the fish you could pull out were just as big as they are on the other side of that spillway.
Good luck to you!1

Joe, check out the following link to the CPW fishing atlas.

I found this to be a valuable resource when I first came to Colorado 10 years ago.

Take it from a fellow grandpa, a great place to take them is Jackson State Park, northeast of Orchard. Lots of awesome places to shore fish. It had several species of fish like, trout, catfish, wipers. You and the kids will love it. I suggest you use your GPS on your phone to get there, it's kind of tricky. Good Luck!
