Went carping in 80 degrees Robert G Martin Lake this evening on a warm, sunny day with a light west wind. The flood waters receded a lot but there was still some water in the field. Threw out a can of corn π½ for chum, then caught 8 bluegills and 6 brown bullheads with corn meal on 12 lb test, whole kernel corn on 4 lb test and no bait on a #14 gold hook and 2 lb test line. Carp were jumping. 4 intruders were in my south shore spot. A kayak fisherman was on the lake. Lots of crows were flying. Two goslings were swimming with their parents. Caught my 1,700th fish π£ for this year. A brown bullhead swallowed 2 of my hooks. Landed a multispecies double consisting of a bluegill and brown bullhead. Had lots of bites.

You have to be one of the catchingest fishermen I have ever know of. Keep on Bands, I love your stories and pictures.

Nice catching Bands. A Bullhead/Bluegill double is kinda an unusual pair. Very cool, thanks for sharing.

An unusual double for sure Bands, I could imagine a gill and another species of βsunfishβ together but a cat and gill as Fred mentioned is an unique combination.
