I have been using worms primarily, but I’ve messed around with a miniature rattle trap which actually works pretty good but it’s a pain to get them unhooked. But a little chartreuse Croppie jig seems to work as well. I normally am just an artificial lures fisherman but for these it’s just so fun on the ultralight and the worms work best. One thing I have found is using a balsa wood bobber and a worm and split shot and actually trying to keep the worm just on the bottom seems to catch a lot more fish you just have to pay attention to your bobber that’s laying on its side and watch for it to move or whatever. I caught lots more big ones that way. I also have found that using a 1/0 offset bass worm Cook works very well and they don’t swallow it and they’re easier to unhook. The Somewhat oversized hook does not seem to intimidate them.

I thought they were aggressive enough to hit small lures, like crappie. Chartreuse beetle spin was a favorite for them.
I like worms bur I get bored sitting.
