Your boat looks great, and so does your smile with those halibut!

Thanks FY! It was a lot of work, 4 days laying under a boat after several days on the deck and helm work, but worth every drop of sweat!

Thanks Steve! Thought about you when out there fishing and how the conditions wouldn’t agree with you!

Yep, if it was snotty, I'm glad I wasn't out there with you.
When the weather and conditions are predicted to be nice/favorable I wouldn't mind goin out in the bay , maybe around Oakland area, and tryin for Halibut.
Or wherever the bite is.

Thanks Gordon. It’s an ‘86 250 Sportsman. Seems like a well built boat, handles the snotty stuff, plenty of room, walk around is a bit narrow and it’s a heavy boat (part of why it handles the snotty stuff). What year was yours and what did you upgrade to?

Same boat as yours but mine was a 85 model. Had a two burner stove, Toilet, Fresh water sink and slept 4. Upgraded to a 23 Pro Line Sport with twins. We used the Well Craft for camping so often we were neglecting our fishing so we switched. It does handle the rough water very well.

Got the boat service and bottom paint done and launched it, then went for Halibut. Had to use frozen bait because the seals ripped open the nets of the bait supplier. Had a great day, boat was great, modifications worked well and landed a total of 8 fish with 4 of them legal. Couldn’t ask for a better outing.

40grit,,wow, boat looks great,,halibut looking pretty good too!!!congrats bud!!

Not 100%, but I have gotten out and tinkered a bit. Almost lost my baitcasting rod when I got a birds nest. Lure was still in the air and pulled the rod out of my hand. Probably looked funny as hell to an observer. Found out then my grip still sucks. I do great until a sudden change in tension that was not anticipated happens. Didn't have that happen when I caught the smallie, but i was basically anticipating the strike so held on.
