Good evening. Mike from Fort Scott,KS. A fly fisherman trying to find good places to go in southwest Missouri.
Hi Mike. Try Rorring River State Park or Bennett Springs State Park.
Been there last summer . Way to crowed and way to many places you can’t touch the water. I like less crowed places if possible. But thanks for the recommendation.
Trying the Missouri blue ribbon slam this summer. 1 down 8 to go. Wish me luck

Hey Mike- an off the road, less crowded spot for trout fishing is Jolly Mill Park. Between Neosho and Monett off hwy 60, it's a historical site, a beautiful place, that's stocked by the Missouri Conservation Dept. This link will give you more info -

Thanks for the spot . I will look into it and plan a trip.
Thanks for the destination. Looking forward to a nice day and hopefully some trout on the fly. Close to crane creek if jolly mills is a bust. Any place else you can recommend would be great. Thanks

It’s a little bit of a hike, but Taneycomo is a excellent trout fishing destination.
Thanks. I’ll look it up for the details.

I agree with the recommendation for TaneyComo below table rock dam trophy area mostly serious fly fisherman that respect other fisherman Cooper Creek resort is a short distance below the dam have stayed there for many years really enjoy it reasonable boat rentals don’t give up on roaring river weekdays and catch and release from November to February i’ve been in the park on a very cold morning and had the whole park to myself Love it good luck keep on casting
