Thanks NJ, I will check out the site
Good morning plum. I was looking at neoprene waders one time. A guy walking by told me to think hard about neoprene. He said they can get unbearably hot in warm weather.
For chest waders, I have a guide model pair of stockingfoot Simms breathable chest waders. I take good care of them. They still look great and have never needed a patch. I used them for several years of guiding in Alaska, personal fishing in Alaska and an unknown number of trips in a float tube. I still use them to launch the boat at no dock launches. I purchased them about 15 years ago. They are expensive, but worth every penny. For duck hunting, I use neoprene chest waders with built in boots. Climbing in and out of state blinds is tough on them. As fo hip waders, I have never found a pair that holds up as Alaska hiking boots, so I buy what I can get on sale, as long as the boot is comfortable. It seam all rubber boots crack no mater how I store them. Don't forget the belt. I also wear a life jacket, it makes a good warm vest. More important, I believe it saved my life in the Kenai river.

Thanks Chief, Something to consider. For sure wouldn't be totally up to my waste in the water 100% of the time.
Rubber waders are usually the cheapest. However, it has been my experience they only last a year or two. I've had much better luck with neoprenes. The kind I used required buying separate boots.
I just buy cheaper ones just for fishing they all leak after awhile
And waders also deter the always-popular snappin' turtle bite...
Although a big one might cut a hole if it hits the right angle.

Good morning folks. Some of you may have seen a pic or two on a recent post of a local creek / stream I have ventured on to this past week and getting quite hooked on this freshwater fishing vs saltwater.
I came across an area where the walking trail ends but the creek / stream continues on in to what looks like un fished areas. Rather shallow to a point and would like some info on waders.
Type, style, brands, vendor, whatever info you can share will be appreciated. Thank you in Advance.

Rogers sporting goods on the internet makes a canvas wader called 2 in 1 which means you can zip a liner in and out of them depending on the water temp hope that helps neoprene is good for cold but summer you will sweat

Plum, my guess for your use , you would probably want the “ non-insulated “. Lots of good advice from fish yaker and everyone else. I second the brands mentioned Hodgman are more budget minded, Simms worth every bit. Those are brands I own, frogtoggs look good too. IMO can’t really effectively fish a stream to its full potential unless you get off the bank , especially flyfishing. Good luck.

Thanks DM - I was wondering about that. I have no idea how/why that would work, but I'm going to take it on faith just so I can feel better when out there!
Plumb, look on Ebay and mercari before you buy. Get an idea of what are the spendy models then you’ll know if they are a deal. I know some folks like wading without waders but I figure a trout the size I am hunting for knows exactly what human danger smells and tastes like. Sorta like wearing Old Spice out to hunt deer.
