Fishing date: 4/28/23
City: Westborough MA
Bodies fished: A-1 (Stumpy), Little Chauncey Pond, Lake Chauncey.
5:30am-9:30am A-1 results
Total largemouth: 4
3 under 2 lbs
1 weighed at 3.1
Soft plastics, slow drift. All 4 fish hit on the fall. A couple larger bass lipped goby hellimite and spit.
10am-1:30pm- Little Chauncey
Total largemouth: 6
5 shoebox sized bass
1 weighed at 2.5lbs
5/32 Ned head jig with 3” pumpkinseed hellimite used as a swim bait.
2:00pm-5-00pm Lake Chauncey
Total largemouth: 6
All bass where under 2.5 lbs
Used several applications. Swim baits, nedhead jigs, un-weighted 5 “ trick worm for free fall strikes
Final thoughts:
All three are worthy honey holes which will come alive in the coming weeks. It was a tuff bite but expected. From 45 Acres to 313 the temp range was comparable from body to body with the smallest (little Chauncey) being the coldest!
Thanks Bands!.. as you know short and sweet. Could have added depths, retrieve speed and other variables, maybe next time. Tight Lines!

Salty Pig, Thanks for the report. I haven’t been to Lake Chauncy this year. I will definitely visit there soon. We (my grandson and I) have been fishing the reservoir in Southborough and having good luck there.
Nice work Doug.. passing the knowledge onto the next fishing prodigy is what it’s all about!
Thank you

Never been to little chauncey pond. I will have to figure out how to get there. were in a boat/kayak?
Car-top boat, kayak, canoe and any old bathtub will suffice. Lol
Good luck out there!!
