New to the Fresno area and looking for recommendations on where to find rainbow trout.

Just Google Trout fishing near Fresno and you will have your choice of some very nice places. Welcome to the stage.

Cal Bob Loc: Clovis, California

We catch rainbows at Shaver and Huntington Lakes, and also Courtright and Wishon. There are closer places, (Shaver is an hour away, Huntington 1 1/2, and the others are 2 hours drive), but I like the mountains. You can shore fish, kayak or power boat from all of them, I believe.

I troll at Pine Flat around where the power lines cross the lake. This area is known as Windy Gap and is usually pretty good for planted rainbows. If you are fishing from shore, I see some success near the Trimmer Springs boat ramp. Good Luck!

I'll check it out, thank you! Yes, shore fishing for now until I save up for a Kayak.
