So I just recently made a straight up trade with my buddy, my beat up ol “LOWE” John boat with the trailer , for my buddy’s hardly used “PELICAN CATCH “ kyak..
do you think I made a good deal? When I got the John boat few years ago, it came with the trailer I traded with the boat , for the yak, I also was given a Minn kota trolling motor and a 9.5 hp Johnson inboard motor with the boat back when I bought it, and I got it all for 200$ … I still have the trolling motor and 9.5hp Johnson motor ,I plan to find the best method of mounting my trolling motor on my new yak hopefully I can do it all without having to spend alot of money .. all in all I’m jus curious as to if everyone thinks I made a good trade or not…

Gotta agree with Leo Goose, I think you made a fine trade.
Good trade. You did very well. Shouldn’t have much of a problem mounting the troll motor. Just make sure you have enough room to operate and be able to balance it.
You can always find another jonboat. The kayak will suit you well in lots of skinny water. I’d say good trade!
My rule of thumb, if you're both happy, it's a good trade. I would walk away smiling with that trade if I could keep from ripping the yak.

reminds me of the woman carrying a package as she walked down the road of a local Indian reservation. A squaw driving a pick-up pulled up, stopped and asked, "You want ride?" The lady replied, "Sure!" Riding along, the squaw asked, "What you got in bag?" The lady replied, "I got a bottle of whiskey for my husband." The squaw reflected for a moment. looked over to her and said, "Good trade!"
If you are both happy then it is a good trade

And that’s all that matters.
If you are happy, it is a great trade. Now get out and use that yak.

Hey Goose. I agree with ALL the others. If you're both happy, then that's all that matters.
IDK bout SD, but in Cal and lots of other states, if you put ANY kind of motor on your vessel, whether it's a Yak, Canoe or whatever, you have to register it with the state and get CF#s. Just a heads up is all. Good luck. Now get out there , use it and post pics.
Great trade! My son loves his yak!
