FLASH LIGHTS

About flashlights:
It's not so bad anymore, but until the LED flashlights came along (and sometimes even then), Why did I have to whack a flashlight a few times if I wanted it to light? I've had some that required almost a constant beating!

I never understood why the military issued those 90-degree olive green lights. Are those for people who don't have wrist joints?

The LED flashlights are awesome, I have a couple of 1000-lumen lights that are almost TOO bright. Can't use them when I'm working in the cabinet under the kitchen sink!

Since the LED lights came along, I keep buying more of them as better ones come along. I've become a FLASHAHOLIC!

The military lights have the 90 degree turn for when you need a hands free light comes in handy reading maps, writing, plus if guiding in vehicles you would be surprise its a lot easier than a straight hand held . LED's was the big game changer

Probably had to smack a couple of them to get 'em to work!

Back in the 50's, my Grandma kept a short piece of 2X4 and a ball peen hammer next to the TV. When it acted up, she'd lay the 2X4 on top of the set, then whack it with the hammer. The 4X4 was so that she wouldn't mess up the TV cabinet. (Remember when TV sets came in a nice wooden cabinet?)

Yep, called them consoles back in the day. Ay that time they were a piece of furniture and mom had to have it in the right spot.

O wow, memories! Did yours have that center spindle where you could stack multiple records that were held in place by a retaining arm? As one record finished, the tone arm would retract, allowing the next record to drop onto the turntable. Was always mesmerized by that as kid!

If
Snagged, I got on a collecting thing for unusual lamps one time, had a huge house to display them in. Anyway, one of my favorites was a carbide miner's helmet. Civil war period I think, never really got into researching all the strange lamps and lanterns that I turned up, sure would be easy today with all the info on the ww web. Amazing what turns up at flea markets and tag sales.
