The Lake County Quagga/Zebra (QZ) Sticker is required, IN ADDITION to a State DMV sticker, for all vessels launched in Lake County water bodies. Remember to check in with a participating screener when you return from any out-of-county trips with your boat - it's the law! Program screeners have current information on counties and water bodies in the western United States infested with invasive mussels. Re-screening and inspections, when needed, are free. Resident and Visitor stickers are $20.

Just a little update to let everyone know that the NorCal weather continues to be highly unusual. Just canceled a smallmouth trip for next week due to cold weather and snow. Two Stagers tried to fish today on a lake not far from our M&G finally, they just gave up and went to the Casino. I also just canceled a trip to Clear Lake tomorrow because of the weather forecast. The forecast for this weekend is more of the same except hardly any chance of rain. I'm not suggesting to anyone that they not come to the M&G. My purpose is to provide the info you need to be prepared for the conditions. As far as the fishing goes, many variables contribute to the quality of a fishing trip. Many of those variables are out of our control so we'll do the best we can with what we've got. See you soon.
The worst weather that Lake county ever has to offer is milder than what the fellas in the Northeast deal with.
True that! Here is something to get everyone's juices flowing. Went on a 5 day fishing with two Stagers ( still above water, the bus) and a few of their friends. Got down in the 30's the first three days with rain and wind. The weather and the fishing improved the last two days but, we were hoping for a better trip than what we got. Our two Stagers went back this week for three days and the bus sent me this pic today of a fish he caught. Congrats George! Wish I could have shared the moment with you.

Thanks. Weather was all over the place. Calm in the morning, rain midday, winds in the afternoon. Rained All day on Tuesday with high winds. Spend the day at the casino. Winnings helped. It’s amazing what it costs now with gas, camping and launching fees. Hope everyone has a great time at the M&G at Clearlake. Hoping you all have decent weather and hook them up. Too much going on for me to make it. Can’t push the envelope, two multi day trips in the last three weeks! Good luck everyone! P.S that pic of George was a 10+ pound fish! FYI. To those who are going to Clearlake, we caught 90% of our fish using 1/8 ounce “Roadrunner” jig heads with 2” swim tails in white and minnow patterns using a very slow retrieve. Did not find many fish sitting on the beds. Most fish were caught working deeper water adjacent to sloping shore structures.
