Nice! I just saw something on Facebook that said they’re changing the slot limit to 29”-31” effective as soon as June 2, 2023. Ask your local bait and tackle shop if they’ve heard anything.

A two inch slot doesn’t sound right , this was updated April 2 2023 from fish and game , I’m waiting for my bonus tag to get here

I did see Dweezil play at the Borgata in Atlantic City on the first Zappa plays Zappa tour it was awesome Steve Vai Napoleon Murphy Brock and Terry Bozzio were there totally amazing!
Well that sucks ! That gives you a 2 inch window!!
I just went online and checked it out, that sucks for the Saltwater guys!!! A 3 inch slot length is ridiculous, and I predict a huge increase in poaching as a result.

First off, nice fish Nanook and thanks for the picture as this is what we Stagers look for.
Re: Frank Zappa, from my personal recall and judgmental views:
1. Frank was a most unique artist, not to be reproduced with any originality. I'd put Jeff Beck and Prince in that same category.
2. He was a very high IQ person, measured at least once at 172 (genius level). I'm guessing this precludes any "need" for drugs. That's "high" enough.
3. As weird as his body of work may seem to most of us, he was famously anti-drug and alcohol use (this in the 60s); though he was a chain smoker.
4. Frank was a control freak and saw his band mates as employees. Ever met one or yourself in the mirror. Be honest. At some point in his career, he made band members sign a contract stating they would not be under the influence during rehearsals or while playing on tour for the duration of the contract.
5. Frank melded VERY intricate jazz, big band, symphonies, humor and whatever the heck else was on his naturally expanded mind. Thus, the way ahead of his time reference.
Never to be reproduced (including Dweezil's "Zappa note for note" tours.) Few to none have done this before or since.
Sorry re: fishing off-topic prolonged discussion; but that hieroglyphic took me back to a time.
