Littledog52 here,
We are fishing the loop for two weeks,
It's my birthday and would love a trophy trout. Any recommendations?🐶
Convict lake! Pretty decent fat trout, and they bite top water, bobbers with night crawlers, kastmasters, things like that. You can always see them from the shore and can see clearly to the bottom of the lake, super clear water. Power bait rarely works there though.

I though it open up last last Saturday?? On the 4-30 ?
Troll with Silver #7 Flat fish, or Frog color with Davis trolling blades with 1oz wgt. On the rudder blade if you don't have lead line or a down Rigger.
And I would go 7 colors to start.

For a trophy trout in that area, yeah trolling is the way to go.

Largest I have caught out of Crawley was 7lbs that was served years ago.
Do well with Thomas Boyance trolling and casting from the bank I have all the different colors you never know what pattern they want.
Good luck
