Well pulled into the boat thru the door, no. I am pretty sure shark's are not in season till May 1st. Is my buddy nuts enough to reach down and pull the hook and sinker out of the sharks mouth yea, it was his 8 oz sinker.... a minute later he said that was kinda dumb... I didn't care about the 12/0 Circle Hook... I have plenty of those... fish safely released.
What a great time! That one will go down in your fishing history for sure. 45 minutes, wow!

How big was that shark? It looked like he was over man size!
Well quite frankly after battling that fish for nearly an hour… this 60+ year old man was toast… I wish I would have at least had my buddy taken a picture with me in it or something to scale… so here’s some old school rough calculations which I think are being generous… looked like 10’ shark and 200 lbs… it was a big fish and I landed it with 25 lb mono, 40 lb liter and a 40lb 6” wire liter ( that I crimped) thank the fish gods for doing that… many things could go wrong during an hour battle with undersized tackle…. I was waiting for the I infamous “bewing” of a straighten hook, failed knot or line break… the fish gods were smiling down on me that day….

Yes, I hope some day you will get to experience the same, a battle like that only comes around once or twice for most of us… good luck and tight lines!

I am amazed the snap swivel didn’t break. Or mainline

You and me both, I wasn't fishing for shark... I just got that Penn Warfare Combo at Bass Pro Shops during their Spring Fishing Classic a month or so ago... I was constantly messing with the drag and moving from port to starboard aft to keep the line from getting cut by the prop... the fish gods were smiling down on me that day!
