I’m no fishing expert but I do enjoy the quiet moments or even the occasional fisherman next to me.
It was a week day and I had a few hours to burn and went down the local lake, near my home. I planted myself on a dock, No one else around and zoned out.
It was 20 minutes and a couple of fishing buddies and their $50,000 BaseBoat put into the lake. I can only dream of such things. LOL
The dock I was on , is 100 feet from the boat slip, with this said, these two buddies pulled up next to the dock to fish, more drinking and laughing, than fishing.
Then to top off my day, a gentleman and his retriever stopped next to the dock ,so he could throw a plastic duck in the water, for his dog to retrieve. I had to pull my two Cat Fish lines in, so as not to snag the dog.
Needless to say, my fishing had come to an end.
Don’t worry, I went home and took my Model T out for a spin.

You're a better man than me. I would have said something to ALL of them.
NO excuse for such behavior next to a dock where someone is fishin before they got there.

Absolutely Steve! I always try and cut a wide berth around anyone fishing from shore. I realize that they have limited access to the water, whereas I can fish the whole lake.
Sorry you ran into 2 different types of selfish idiots Unprr. Hopefully your next trip will be more peaceful.

shore fishermen should not fish near a boat launch and boat fishermen should not fish close to shore dock fishermen. or for that matter no fisherman should crowd another fisherman.

Positively Fred. When I'm in my boat and go to one of my spots to fish, if someone else is there first, I go elsewhere.
Same if I go somewhere and there's a kayak fisherman around that area I go somewhere else.
They had to work to get there.
Shore fishermen have the right of away as far as I'm concerned.
I try never to get close to shore fishermen.

0Thank you Fred. Nice to be home after months away. Me and my floo got into a punching match

I hope you're all recuperated from that encounter, and are able to join your compadres at the upcoming M&G. You really deserve a couple day of catching fish and having some fun with the guys. Glad to see you back my friend.

Unfortunately, where I fish on the Hackensack, the fishing pier shares a boat launch but for the most part, they get in the water and go away. Exception. this jerk jet ski, around and around in front the pier with his equal jerk friend taking videos, then he comes and docks it 15ft ON THE FISHING PIER from where I'm fishing. They left just before I had had enough. There's nothing you can do. Can't fix stupid or lack of respect and they were bigger than me!!
Wish any of you guys had been there!! Especially Spirit! Welcome back, nice to see you again!
