thanks for the reply, I’ve been crappie fishing myself and haven’t been doing any night fishing yet, but I heard the shad are starting to spawn on lake Cumberland.

Might be the place to go. I have never fished in Kentucky. Daughter lives in Prestonsburg, but never wet a line over there.

yes if the shad are surfacing on Cumberland it is some good striper fishing, I was told they are starting to come up on Cumberland, I’m waiting on a calm night, when the wind isn’t blowing to hard, and I’ll give it a shot, it takes me about the same amount of time, to drive to Cherokee or the lower end of Cumberland, I can get to the head water of Cumberland in half hour, but not a good place to fish at night, to many thieves that will rob your truck, so when I fish Cumberland at night I go down near the Dam. but if you ever have any questions about fishing Cumberland, I may be able to share some input on it, I’ve fished that lake for 50 or so years.

Thank you, sir. I may take you up on that. I enjoy fishing lakes I have never fished before. Makes for a good challenge. As if fishing wasn’t enough of a challenge.
