Steve Barry here... Native Floridian originally from Miami when it wasn't yet a sprawling sea of humanity. Have lived in the western panhandle of this 'Lower Alabama' for over 30 years, an as yet barely discovered slice of paradise.
If you're the outdoors type, hunting/fishing fresh/salt there's not much missing here. Tarpon are about to get thick, and the yearly migration is a sight to behold. Only thing I miss about South Florida is the snook fishing, but the redfish will just have to do! And the yellowfin and the blackfin and the cobia and the pompano and the red snapper, AJ's, etc, the list is long.

Steve you forgot we have some darn good fresh water fishing here too. Bass, bluegill,catfish etc. Being from the north end of the county we have more fresh water than salt.
