Didn’t plan on going out since the boat needs service but an opportunity came up and I took advantage of it. My fishing buddy Jim, his brother and a friend had booked a charter out of Emeryville and the friend couldn’t make and Jim asked if I wanted to go, yup!

Very glad I did, we went on the inaugural trip of the Oakland Anglers II new boat and the trip was sponsored by www.Pitbulltackle.com and on board was “Stacy Goes Outside” a youtuber. She was fishing as well and documented the whole trip. We all got a free pair of braid cutting pliers and a halibut rig from Pitbull Tackle.

It was a beautiful day, calm seas, blue skies and very little wind. We went out exactly where I went on Saturday in my boat, just out from Oakland Airport and that’s where everyone was. Not as many boats as Saturday, but quite a few. The bite was slow most of the trip, had to work for them like we did on Saturday. No limits, but there were fish caught, no jackpot for the largest fish, but Pitbull Tackle had a $100 gift card for the largest fish and Stacy Goes Outside had a hat.

So Jim landed 4 shakers and 1 keeper striper, his brother was skunked, I landed 2 halibut keepers and a striper. When the captain announced “15 more minutes” I pulled my line and re-baited figuring fresh bait wouldn’t hurt and immediately was rewarded with a 32”, 9 3/4 lb. Halibut, the largest fish caught and my PB halibut! “I’d rather be lucky than good!!”

At some point I’m sure Stacey will have the trip on her you tube channel, I’m curious to see it, she had a drone, hand held camera and a chest strapped go pro.
Didn’t plan on going out since the boat needs serv... (show quote)

I think the only one who caught a striper was the one in the group pic far left in front. All the rest look like wipers!!!😂😂😂

Hey guys, I dont think we have Wipers out here. All the Stripers we have in the Ocean and Rivers are from the original strain of Stripers from the Atlantic. Some of the Stripers we have in some of the lakes MIGHT be, but IDK.

Thanks Gordon, I’m a dog lover as well and the dogs were great to have on board, although one kept stopping at the guy next to me and peeing on the deck. Pretty humorous actually………

Maybe the guy was in his spot!

Thanks Fred! Go to you tube and search “Stacey Goes Outside”, all her fishing adventure videos are there and eventually she’ll post this trip. Didn’t want any pics of her on my phone otherwise my wife won’t be so agreeable to me fishing!😂

There has also been some that say it also has something to do with how long they spend in FRESH water.
Alot of our Stripers are caught in the rivers.
IDK.
But I do know that there aren't any white bass for them to mix with out here.
