Is the fishing any good today from the banks? If it is which bank should I go to? Just relocated to Missouri 6 months ago, new to all these Missouri Lakes and would appreciate tips on locations and what's biting there, best bait to use at that location, myself I prefer lures over live bait but I can adapt

Hey there and welcome to the Stage! Thanks to expanding residential areas, access to bank fishing is kinda limited. If it were me, especially before the lake campgrounds start charging to use facilities, I'd go to one of several close to you like Shell Knob, Big M and Eagle Rock marinas. All have camping areas with easy access to the water. Water temps are now in the upper 50s so bank fishing should be decent. Good luck!

Lures I have had success with in that area are white DB 16, wiggle warts, and some stick baits.
Never hurts to throw out a bobber with a minnow on it while casting.

Welcome to SW Missouri! I would get a boat, either a kayak or small boat (jon or fishing boat) for greater access to local ponds, lakes and public waters. Bank fishing is very limited on big public waters except at parks. A boat will give you access to any place on the water. I use a kayak which is easily transportable to any place where there is public access. You are also close to one of the best trout parks in the Midwest -- Roaring River down by Cassville. It is a state park trout hatchery with plenty of camping spaces, playgrounds, hiking trails, store, swimming pool, etc.. You can trout fish from the bank or with waders. No boats allowed.
