Conowingo dam in Maryland looking good yesterday. No catches not even a hit. Just a beautiful day and taking in the sights.

Last pic is a Marina on the West side of the dam. Kayaking will be do able later this year but not sure about the East side. Current really flows there.

By the way keep an eye out for the vultures.

I lived in Elkton for 25 years...nice catfish in tailwaters....great shad fishing in spring....and some nice bass out on the flats towards Turkey Point........when water temps got up near 60 degrees there used to be some strikers around Turkey Point on the canal side......

I drove over the dam yesterday and I noticed that the Cormorants have started to move in. The last few years, when they show up, the Eagles disappear. They wouldn’t be there unless the water below the dam is loaded up with fish. The vultures will damage you vehicle. Once, they pulled the whole gasket from around a guy’s windshield while he was there fishing. I drive over the dam at least once or twice a week to eat at the Spready Oak restaurant that’s about 2-3 miles north of there.

They certainly were some nasty looking birds. When I walked the path on the east side they nearly walked by my side and seem to fear nothing.

Wonder what is the attraction for them to stay there. Didn't see any of them diving for fish like the eagles were.

Thanks Jar, does make one want to wet a line. I went prepared, but should have sent a memo ahead to the fish.

Oh well it's not always about catching.

Great looking water plum, and the pictures went bad either!😁 why do the vultures congregate there?

No clue on the Vultures Ruff, it wasn't like they were feasting on dead fish or anything else. According to some other guys here on the stage they must be a regular occurrence there.
