Have fished a couple of back Bay locations in the Shrewsbury and Neversink river and have not yet gotten any bass. Went out yesterday on charter boat and fished back of Raritan Bay very successfully, But all fish seem to be staged away from the beaches. 6 guys on boat had approximately 50 bass And about 75% of them were keepers the other 25% were all slot fish. Fish fished with 5 inch white or green paddle tails on on 3 oz jig heads. 100% feeding on bottom.

Thanks for the report. I hope to get my kayak in near the Amboys this weekend. I went down there last week, but it was too windy.

A lot of the kayakers were fishing further back in by the railroad bridge. They have been back there for about 2 weeks already and from what I understand they have been successful.

Wish I had a boat to anchor there! Once things get cooking I'll come down to the beach there.

Well, so much for fishing this weekend.... Thunderstorms and wind to almost 30 mph. Looks like it will be windy through at least next Friday. Maybe some day I will get to go fishing again. Perhaps I will have to take a day off of work. On top of that, my water pump is leaking and needs to be replaced before I venture that far.

Hey Ron Moll, Nice catch, I can already see those thick white fillets baking in the oven. I hope your kayak is well lit for fishing after sunset, My experience in the Raritan Bay has been lots of boat traffic that don't carefully watch where they're going. Good luck, Be careful out there. I am going out again this Tuesday, Will post results
