I hit Contra Loma or as the locals call it Loma the last couple of weekends. But I came down with a cold so I didn't post the weekend before last. As we all know the weather hasn't been great. No home run fish or limits. But I picked up a quality fish the last 2 outings missed a couple. The Sat. before last was a nice 3 - 3.5 lb trout this one was fun to catch because I left my net in the truck. So I had to ware the fish down enough to use the old hooked finger in the gill trick to get it in the boat. And the rest are from yesterday. The fish was a nice 4 lb + trout. They were both caught the same way. It's my go to when the wind picks up. And I don't feel like swinging around on anchor or trolling and fighting the wind. Anyone else here use a drift sock when the wind picks up? It's kind of like trolling just a lot slower.. I figure the area I want to cover go up wind and toss the sock out. I caught these 2 while dragging a power egg power worm combo off a 6' to 8' leader I like long leaders when doing this. I'm an old ship and house painter. And I converted one of my old 10' extension roller poles into my net handle.
Awesome post 4570!
I have the same problem with my Cat hound, falls asleep on watch duty.
In the first photo I thought...Good looking Dog.
Then came the 2nd photo....Good timing and funny.
Love those Trout. I sure hope Spirit27 gets a look at your post.
Those will be some nice Dinners.
Thanks for the post.

Great summary of your outings...and a faithful companion as well to share in the action!
Yeah he's my half German Shepherd half Basset hound rescue dog. He's a crack up and too damn smart at times. He's pretty much a 100 plus % shepherd down to the deep bark and growl when need. But his legs that's another story they're a 100 plus % Basset Hound. He's my shadow

Older brother had a dog that looked just like that one. Always wondered what the German shepherd was mixed with. He was a tough one.
