Joes the name and I am from Warwick, NY. Just about as far South as you can get in "Upstate NY" Looking to do some Walleye and Pike fishing with my son this year in the Adirondacks or further north in NY. Oneida Lake looks promising as well ! We're originally midwestern fisherman from Chicago/Wisconsin area. We Love to Bass, walleye and Pike fish. We have a 14' Jon boat with a Mercury 9.9 4-Stroke so we have some independence.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions or guidance for us.
Many Thanks,
Joe

Lake Gilead
Are you sure ?? It is a very very small lake ? But right n my back yard. Are gas engines allowed or just electric ? Not much info online.
Best,
Joe
No. Sorry its been decades. Gilead was not the pike lake, it was Saranac

For walleye, try right in your backyard, Greenwood lake. There's a nice hump in the middle of the lake, east, west and towards the upper end of the bigger part of the lake. Get a good map of the lake to make it easy to find.. Good luck
Thanks Asny ! Havent had much luck on Greenwood but am up to try. I biught a nice depth finder last year so !!

There's a lot of deep water all round this hump. The top of the hump is around 10' deep. I was in a night Bass tournament, the fish were coming out of the water. I thought they were small mouth bass so I started throwing topwater plugs. But I Started catching walleye like crazy, 6--10 lbs . Didn't help with the tournament but we had a blast.
Wow, sounds AWESOME ! What time of year was that ? I am looking to get out early this year and man, I am ready too ! We had a late trip this past early November to the Adirondacks. We fished Long Lake and caught a few nice ones but it was slow. Might try Tappan or Racquette Lake in a few weeks when the season opens again. Anxious to get out. If you're in the area give me a shout anytime !

It was early summer at night.
But if you go earlier in the year, just try closer to shore or this hump near the drop off.
Take care
Hi I’m also in Warwick, I can tell you if you go to the town beach section on any giving evening you’ll hook into walleye and musky from shore. Also if you drive to you see Indian park entrance it’s the development. that’s about where you’ll find the high spots your being told about.
