I grew up in Gresham and my father and I used to dip smelt every year. Been many years since there's been a good smelt run in the Sandy, this is awesome news.

Yup, dip netting. Fry ‘em up don’t worry about cutting head off or cleaning, enjoy just like corn on the cob.

I'm not really sure. I looked it up on the ODFW and I believe smelt dipping is still illegal in Oregon. Check it out before you go and if it is legal I want to go LOL

No smelt netting on the Cowlitz this year. I suspect this goes for
The whole Columbia River system- both states.
A pity.
