Got on Lake Michigan at Hammond Harbor about 3pm, a bit chilly but had some luck trolling for coho, 6 actually in 3 hours but could have caught more had we not had 2 on at the same time and made a tangled mess… took about 30 min to untangle and they stopped hitting after that. Actually had a nice size smally hit the lure around the turn by the break wall. Wind picked up towards dusk, brrrr
Nice going out there! My wife and I just got home from a "recon" drive to check out Frankfort, MI and a few fishing spots along the way. Action is kind of slow around here on the big water but things should change up soon.
A couple of guys I spoke with on the breakwall at Frankfort mentioned some coho showing up, a few steelies and a couple of browns having been caught recently. Same word from the charter boats, which are barely getting started right now.
Thanks, yeah we were at a warm water discharge from a steel mill, the water temp was 43-45degrees in the break wall and 38-39 outside the break wall. That being said we did catch 2 in the colder water the other 4 were inside the break.
Good ones. Nice picture s
