Ok so we were scheduled to stay close to Mackinac city but place called and told us they overbooked so we couldn’t get our site that week. So we now secured a campsite near petoskey. I am currently looking at charters but if anyone on here is from that area I would appreciate any info especially places to shore fish as will be doing that daily. Fishyaker had given me lots of info from Mackinac area but this is southwest about an hour.

Petoskey has a nice pier you can go out on and fish. Depending on what time of year there is the Bear River that comes right through Petoskey by City Hall and is a good salmon/steelhead spot when the run is on.

Thanks we are planning to be there first week of July. Do you know of any charters that would be good to book.

I'm sorry I don't have any recommendations. A quick Google showed 3, 5-star rated charters in Petoskey so you have some good choices. Traverse Bays are the furthest North I've fished in our boat so I'm not sure what's hitting up there that time of year but there's good lake trout out deep and smallmouth along the shoreline.

Thanks I’m gonna be doing some research this weekend and get something setup.

I believe Fishyaker lives near Traverse City which is in that general area. I would bet he can inform you of some charters in that area. Good luck fishing!
