Are there any Walleye in Patoka Lake.
I've heard a lot of conflicting reports but haven't heard of anyone ever catching one.

I fished that lake once and I wondered if there was any fish in it lol. It snowed 3” while we were there. We was crappie fishing so I can’t answer your question about walleye.

Back when the lake was first impounded, they stocked northern pike and walleye fingerlings.. Needless to say, the walleye fingerlings were an appetizer for the northern. I have been fishing the lake since it opened in the 70s. We use to go down and catch 50 to 60 northern a day. Alto a lot of them were small we did catch some in the 30 inch size. Not once in all the years I have fished it, with most of the time in a bass tournament, have I caught a walleye or heard of anyone catching one. If your looking to walleye fish I would try Monroe or Brookville.

Yes there are walleyes in Patoka. Most that I have caught has been by accident while fishing for other species.
We caught two last year while trolling for wipers.
Others were caught jigging for crappies or trolling cranks for crappies.
From what I hear most are caught at night.
The state stocks fry every year.

I have caught some walleye on Monroe by accident. With that being said I have also watched some people catching them. Any time I have seen them caught they were on main lake points and breaks. About a year ago I did catch one around 4 lbs up middle fork. A good topo map and maybe some info from local bait shops could get you started in the right direction.
