Hanging out out in shallow water where it is a bit warmer, particularly on sunny days.

I've seen bass that have moved to shallow water for the spawn but, water temps are in the mid to high 50's, sit in water so shallow their back is out of the water. The more common sight for the term is when you see a bass suspended just under the surface in direct sunlight. Direct sunlight is hard on the eyes of a bass. It's a good indicator as to how much they like "sunning" in cold water.

Thanks

My dad and I took a few casts at a backyard pond today and look what turned up! We were pretty surprised… Four fish in total hit in about 18” of water on soft plastics. Sunning themselves or getting ready to spawn?

Your Dad looks pretty happy with that bruiser. Thanks for sharing.
