I bought that same rod and reel for trout fishing. Originally I bought it to replace a rod my friend broke and I never saw him again so I have been using it for trout fishing in my buddy's boat. It cost $9.99 at Walmart. It looks like they stuck the hooks in the cork and tore it up. It was still a great deal.

I can't leave a good rod and reel in a thrift store. Some of the thrill is getting them in fishing condition again.

Looks brand new.
I don’t think that it has been never used. The cork is an easy fix.

I realize it's like comparing apples and oranges but I just sent an Okuma 8 foot medium heavy spinning rod back and they sent me a new one at no charge. Outdoor Pro Shop charged me 6 bucks for shipping.
It's bout a hundred dollar rod. Also is my main Striper rod.
Not a Goodwill find but a brand new $100 rod for 6 bucks. I was stoked.

My old fishing buddy broke his Okuma rod and sent it back to them and they replaced it for free, and then when he got the new one he broke that one and decided not to use Okuma ever again.

Wow. I just loved my first one that I broke. AND it was all my fault the first one broke.
If this one is like my first one I'll be very happy.
PLUS, it only cost me 6 bucks for the new rod.

My buddy broke his on a Chinook salmon and I can't remember what broke the 2nd one. It may have been another fish. But it broke not too long after the first one.

I think the previous owner should've bought some chew toys for his dog, instead of a fishing pole.
