Hey all! Glad to be here and thrilled I found this website!
I truly am a fish out of water here in Pasadena, TX! I’ve spent my last 50 years of angling pursuing Musky and Walleye. Now I find myself trying to figure out how to catch Specks and Reds. I’m concentrating on gathering all my wade fishing gear…I figure it’s the best way to go about it considering I don’t have a boat and can’t get in or out of a kayak. If there’s any Galveston wade fisherman here, I’d sure like to chat with you!
Tight lines everyone!

Welcome to the stage John, I had a brother named John. I haven't wade fished in a lot of years. There is good wade fishing 🎣 at the Texas City Dike, also Pelican Island 🏝 in Galveston, that's a couple for starters,
yep texas city dike has good wade fishing....
take the road to the left as you get to the dike.
park anywhere along there, or just go up on the dike and fish the beach on the left side...
if you like sitting then park a chair and fish off the dike on the channel side

Welcome!
Go to a nearby Academy, Bass Pro, or Cabelas and pick up a Hook and Line fishing map for the area you want to fish. Texas Fish & Game Magazine Annual Fishing Atlas is also useful for locations with road accessible walk in wading. There are areas with known deep holes and fast rip currents so wear a PFD. Also read up on how to avoid sting rays.
