I’ve been trout fishing the past two weeks and have yet to catch anything in this new year. I’ve tried every bait I could think of, in-line spinners, minnows, worms, jerkbaits, etc. I was just curious what everyone else was using or techniques that might help me catch more trout.

Have you checked the stocking schedule for that area? You might be fishing in a place where there are no fish right now. I trout fish with power bait on a size 14 treble hook under a bobber and or a worm trolling in a row boat. I found a link to Elizabethton area trout fishing. I hope this will help.

I think it’s all about your line! For the past several years I have been using Berkeley Vanish 6# test with no additional leader. The trout just don’t see it and there is no need to tie on a 2#leader like I used to.

Try using live minnows when the releases are zero. Three small shot weights eighteen inches above the hook. I caught 5 Brownies last week. Pan size.
