Wow, where did you get it and what size does it come in?
That sounds really good.

Saw 1. Just search on google for( EVA foam decking ) It comes in different sizes, I ordered 4 rolls from Amazon, each roll was 94” long and 35” wide, they make it with just plane flat surface, or to look like boards about 2” wide with a 1/2” stripe in between, what I bought was about 3/4” strips with 1/2” grooves between the strips, it all looks nice. I just liked the narrow strips best, it’s soft to the touch but strong, only bad reviews I found was some said it didn’t stick down good, so that’s why I sued spray glue on the deck of boat before laying it down, and it seams to be holding good, I had to pull a piece back up to move it over a bit, and it was hard to pull up, trying to make sure it stayed glued down. Before laying any down I vacuumed the deck, then soaked a cloth with Acetone and wiped it good, then used the spray glue and layed the flooring.

What you showed looked amazing, I am anxious to see the other pictures you talked about posting. Looks like you could do that kind of of work for a way to make your living. Wish I had the ability to do that kind of work. Anyway the boat looks great.

LEKREL, those pictures I posted were the pictures I talked about posting, I accidentally hit send before I had time to attach any pictures,

How much of that kingspan foam did you use and what did you put over it like marine plywood

WHITEY, I used one sheet, 2” thick, 4’ wide x 8’ long foam from Lowe’s, I used regular 5/8” thick plywood, coated both sides with sealer, then painted both sides with two coats of oil base paint, I also made two 3” drain holes, one in front of both seats, and cut out hole in foam same size as drain. So any water going in the drain will go straight to bottom of boat, the old floor never had any drain holes.

I bought an old rugged aluminum boat. Bass tracker pro 17, started to change the old nasty carpet, after removing carpet the floor was bad. After removing the floor the foam was rotten and waterlogged, after getting this deep into it I thought I’ll just give her a complete rebuild, used a come-a-long to left the boat off the trailer, gave the old trailer a couple coat of paint, then sanded the old boat inside and out down to bare aluminum. Replaced the old foam in bottom and sides of boat with new foam 2” thick. Rewired it with heavier wire and a new fuse block, new floor, painted inside of boat to match motor, biscuit color, outside of boat red, bottom of boat black. Two coats of clear coat on everything, replaced the old carpet with new EVA foam decking, extended the front deck back even with the console, added two dry hatches, took me around two weeks, and I think it turned out great. I’ll try to post some pictures before and aftesafer if I can.

Very nice quality work there water dog. I am impressed and a bit jealous of your talent! To me it looks safer and more fishable than new. I have a project in process slowed by Colorado weather but much more crude than yours. My grandson in law new I "needed" a boat for our small lakes here in western CO. He was given an old boat for cleaning up a neighbor property by a realtor selling for the estate. It's a 1960 Montgomery Ward Sea King 14' fiberglass boat. The old 25 hp motor was junk but he also got a 1955 12 hp Sea King motor that runs. Long story short he is rehabbing it for me. I will post pics soon. Thanks for listening. Randy

RANDY, glad you liked my post, I hope something I said or some of the pictures will help you with your boat project, I did everything to my little boat myself and it took a while longer than I had thought it would, but it needed done and I’m glad I did it, post your project pictures, they may be just what someone else needs to see, to encourage them to do some repairs to theirs,
