Salmon season is not open.
Crab season is not open.
30 degrees at 7:45 AM. Enjoy the view. This is Puget Sound with Olympic mountains taken from Golden Gardens park.

Id stay out of Seattle proper and go to out lying towns around the sound, seattle is not a great place anymore. that being said from mid Aug-mid Sept. we have our odd year run of pinks that runs in the millions and almost every river that feeds into the sound has a run of them. they are pretty easy to catch with pink jigs under a float, or small pink spoons and a lot of fun to catch fresh from the salt. they are easy to spot since they like to break the surface as they run up the rivers. They are still in the rivers the end of Sept but are pretty well deformed with the hump they get in fresh water which is why they are also call humpies. Mid Sept-Mid October we get the run of silvers (coho) but they are not nearly as big of a run as the pinks and have more restrictions when, where, and how you can fish for them. last year the rivers in my area were closed to fishing for them. There are a lot of fresh water opportunities for trout, perch, and bass but make sure you get a copy of the regs and read it well for where you plan to fish before heading out, the rules really very from place to place. there is a lot a great places to visit such as our volcanoes (mt. Baker, Mt st Helen, and mt Rainier) The cascade mountains, the Olympic mountains the ferry rides across the sound is pretty and a good trip even the 101 loop around the Olympic peninsula is a good trip. there are lots a things to do places to go and that is a good time of year right after the kids head back to school. Just avoid the big cities down the I-5 corridor and make sure you head home at the end and tell everyone you had a miserable time, it rains all the time and no one would ever want to live there unless they were forced to.

I'll take that temperature. It was 10 at my house this morning and on the way to Hawk Creek I registered 3 3 miles east of Harrington and 8 at the parking lot. When I left after noon it was 27.

The ice didn't melt making fishing difficult.

Thanks for all the info. Just booked a place near Lake Cushman and going to explore ONP. Hope it stops raining for a day or two while I’m out there 🤣. Just got off a Lake Erie trib south of Buffalo fly fishing for Steelys. If you ever make it out here make sure you bring a shovel. We are ALWAYS under 10 feet of snow.

When I was a kid (1960’s) we did good trolling for silver trout in Cushman. Also caught cutthroats. We used a boat so there must have been rentals there. Good crabbing in Hood Canal. Lots to do there. Let me know if you need any more ideas.

Good crabbing then if they extend the season as they have done the past several years. That is good coho time as well subject to the constantly changing seasons. Have a super trip.

how true and funny. (but don't tell any one but I love it up here and wouldn't want to live anywhere else and the kids and grandkids are just the icing on the cake) but everyone else hear loud and clear what this wise man just said rain and snow and non of us would ever want to live here besides there are those volcanoes, earthquakes and tidal waves that will do you in so best to stay away far away

Now I know better. It would be nice if you could only fix the traffic.

I hiked across the Olympics the middle of August one year for a week without a drop of rain. Now that's just plain lucky.

I spent the first 20 years of my life in the Puget Sound area. I remember seeing the sun at least once or twice each summer. I didn't get a suntan, I rusted. If you couldn't see Mt Rainier, it was raining. If you could see Mt Rainier, it was getting ready to rain.
