You might want to try the skyway pier either side. Pretty convenient in that you can drive to where you want to fish, no hauling a lot of stuff on foot. For the few dollars entrance fee I think it might be a place to consider.
Tight lines and enjoy! ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐
Disclaimer: I am just getting back into fishing. I had to stop for a long time due to illness, so although I have caught a lot of fish in each of these places, I haven't been to any of them in a while. Here ya go...
I always see people fishing on the Courtney. I've caught fish at the Safety Harbour pier, but when I passed there today, the marina was closed and the whole thing was blocked off. I don't know how long that is going to be for. Another nod to the Skyway pier. Always something biting there. South of Clearwater Beach over the little bridge is Sand Key. If you make a left, right across the street from the entrance to Sand Key beach, there is a fishing area under the bridge. Hope this helps. Tight lines.
Thank you both for the tips I live in safety harbor and the pier they is my quick to go to spot. But I think the skyway will be the ticket tonight. Again thank you both.
Awesome! Hope ya catch a bunch. BTW... Do you know when the Safety Harbor pier will own back up?
Fred howard island. The 2nd bridge. Use a live shrimp on a 1/8 oz. Jig head. Lots of fish here..trout reds and yellow tail.
I believe the safety Harbor pier parking area is closed for the set up for this weekends festival.
Iโm planning on coming down in May from Pennsylvania to fish the skyway bridge and I was wondering if you might know how the fishing is during that time of the year and what kind of fish you can catch and keep, iโm from Pennsylvania but I grew up in Daytona Beach and grew up there and lived there for 18 years but never made it to the skyway pier and Iโve done a lot of research on it but I thought I would try to find out someone from the area tell me whatโs the fishing by and in May

I canโt be much help in that department. I too recently moved from Pennsylvania in bucks county and am new to the Florida fishing areas. Iโve fished skyway and always got bit but nothing very big. Winds were the problem when I was there. Iโve also fished the jetties in Venice, looked good but traversing the rocks near the paved part of the jetties was a challenge for me with bad knees. The beach adjacent to the jetty looked got so I think Iโll try that next. Lots of spots to fish on west coast . I plan to try them all eventually.
Good luck and tight lines
