I relocate to one of the many large Reservations or parks we have around here. Always more than 4 miles away, they say. Doesn't matter how many I catch, there are always more.
Just read on Google, mate twice a year and have 2-6 babies, sometimes 8 and they live around 8 yrs. so do the math. @100 from one squirrel. Teeth grow 6inches per year which is why they gnaw so much I guess. Don't like em!

Maybe I wasn't putting peanuts out fast enough for his liking.

Mine, too! Well-dressed rats! 😉

You're not gonna believe this but I came home this afternoon and had a real rat in my squirrel trap. Still trying to figure out how to get rid of it. Town and Pest shop won't take it. GROSS!!! I'll take a squirrel any day!

Flutter doesn’t have a problem with squirrels eating tulip shoots any more since he quit planting tulips

Not likely he had 55 in his yard at once. Squirrels, groundhogs, Fox etc… are almost impossible to get rid of. If you have an environment they like, as soon as you remove one another is waiting to take its place.Almost impossible to eradicate. I learned this awhile ago when I had the same problem.

Well if he lives in the country, there are 50 rounds to a box of .22.
Otherwise there are a lot more in a can of pellets if the neighbors are too close.

Squirrels are funny.

Squirrel can be very funny animals, But I was walking outside of Midwestern State University after a class when a flowing long red headed young lady was a few yard's behind me and a fellow classmate heard a screaming girl was attacked by a male squirrel that latched onto her hair and biting her. I and the friend ran to assist her, We had to use class book to knock it off, it would jump back into the tree and back into her head until I got lucky and popped it with my book, stunning it and my buddy stepped on it killing it. The campus is covered by pecan trees and being Spring time, he must have thought her hair was a threat.

I know several different people who've had squirrels get into their attics. From that point on, they've had a vendetta against squirrels.

So far, the squirrels around my neighborhood haven't been a problem. I know that some neighbor is feeding them because we find peanut shells everywhere. I'm OK with them as long as they don't make a problem for me - but if they do, I'll use them for target practice!

They have gnawed through the attic cross vent screen in window, twice in 10 yrs.
