Heading to see our grandson who is stationed at Robins AFB in Georgia..
Arriving end of April, and was going to bring my fishing stuff…
I know there is a Walmart close by, so I can get a fishing license .
Anyone know the particulars about fishing near there?
I see there is a spot called the Flat Creek public fishing area..

Ask your grandson to contact MWR on the base. There might possibly be places on the base itself where you could fish. If not on base, MWR would be aware of local fishing opportunities. MWR is an abbreviation for morale, welfare and recreation.

Good going Major. USAF has a great info program for fishing aficionados in the ranks, apparently.
Let the other guys find their own way to the bars & taverns, they've got radar for that.

Viking70 Loc: South Georgia

RAFB refugee here. The Ocmulgee, NORTH of Macon, is pretty good. Lake Juliette is pretty good. Good striper fishing both places. Don't bother with Tobosofkee; too many props in the water. The Ohoopie is not too far if you'd like to limit out on bream; it's legendary. I've never known anyone that fished Flat Creek.

The Major had great advice about checking with MWR; they rent boats and fishing gear and I know for sure (I worked at MWR at Elmendorf) they'll know some good spots.
