Jlp living in mcalester. Fish eufaula weekly so I try keep an active eye in most species as well as bait fish. Water temps depths etc can usually provide accurate up to date info. Most of my fishing is for crappie and catfish.

Eufaula Jan 18,2023...fished fresh cut shad on carolina rigs yesterday fir couple hours. Water temps still mid 40s and catfish are roaming everywhere we go in the 12-17ft range in 20-30 for. Best bet right now seems to be slip corking cut shad 15ft and or drifting flats. Shad catches this week show tons of baby threading balled up in large numbers in creek channels near shallows. Shad spawn occurred, no kill off so with some cold weather and fair winds tgey should start haunti g deep holes in large #s....

Crappie roaming and stuck on timber but honestly not deep eitger yet, most coming from 5ft or less....

Lakes still around 4ft low so be careful, absolute tons of rock sandbags treetops and rocks and brush that normally are deep but right now just at hull depth...odwc has placed more floating indicators out while lakes down tgis way.

Welcome to the Fishing Stage and thank you for the report. I rarely fish Eufaula and am even less likely with the water down. Good info.

Hello & welcome jlp. I've fished Eufaula many times over the years & consider it probably Oklahoma's best crappie lake. Good catfish too. Lake Tenkiller is only a few minutes from my home & I can be on Fort Gibson lake in under 30 minutes so those 2 lakes get most of my fishing business. The older I get the closer to home I fish. My fishing buddy & I usually fish Eufaula's heated marinas in the winter for crappie but my good friend's prostate cancer has him far too ill to fish. i'm afraid
he's baited his last hook. Good luck on Eufaula. Watch the weather as Eufaula can get extremely dangerous fast.

Yes also if you don't want to mess with fish creek then come on up the big hill to bucks of gains creek there is a boat ramp it's the only one here you can catch crappie with minnows and slip float right off the bank right beside that boat ramp also that cove is kick ass as spring kick's in !!!! Good luck!!!!
