I fish the ca delta multiple times a week. I know the rig to use and the lures to use yet I’ve been skunked for 2 1/2 months now. It’s getting personal I’m a decent fisherman I wish I was bill dance but is there some voodoo ritual for fisherman or a prayer I can say to stop this. Arrgh just needed to vent thanks gang.

I feel your pain. Only time I've landed a keeper was with the Striper Whisperer (SAW1)and his bud the Striper Master (Ben). All of my bank and dock fishing and kayaking Montezuma Slough were basically nice but unproductive time spent! Thankfully my dry spell was broken fishing with them....for which I am grateful. Hang in there.

Somebody once said, if the fish are not hitting what you are presenting. Then change up what you doing, presenting. Perhaps it's time you try something different. Perhaps live bait? Ron620

Here are a couple of tips.....

Slow down your retrieve.
Always fish with a Bobber and worm off to the side.
Use fresh bait and plastics
Practice camouflage, light-colored clothing on sunny days

Hey buddy, where you been fishin lately and what were you usin? Bait or lures?
Right now it's still very tough fishin. Last time Ben and I were out we caught 10 and missed 4.
There were 2 other boats that came in when we did and neither boat had any. Water still needs to warm up a bit for the fishin to improve.
Let me know when and where you fish. Maybe I can get with you and we can go out and give it a try sometime.

About 1998 or so the water in Frank's Tract in Feb. was very dirty when I ran my boat two
times for maintenance. I put on a medium size rattle trap and was across the Tract near some tules with shallow water. I decided to cast about 30 feet or so into the margin of the small tules and got a big striper on one cast. Came back two weeks later and did the same near Tules just outside Piper slough and got a second large striper on one cast. Did not fish the rest of the time!
