Planned trip to Reelfoot Lake in Tennessee for end of March. Any tips or suggestions as far as location, tackle, etc.?
Good luck. I have been twice and have been disappointed both times. The first place we stayed was destroyed by tornadoes a couple of years ago and they are not rebuilding. The last time we stayed at Blue Bank Resort. THey took good care of us the facilities are fine we just never got on the fish Don't get me wrong we caught fish but never came close to catching our limit

IMHO, if you can afford it, I'd hire a guide for the first day if for no other reason than to show you where all the stumps fields are located. Very easy to take out a lower unit if you are not careful.
Do yourself a favor and go a little further to pickwick, Hire Brad Whitehead and he will enlighten you on how to catch crappie pulling jigs sideways!! You will be hooked. I have. Fished with Roger and his brother Bill Gant before they retired, They was based out of B.P. Pickwick store in a Counce, Tn. If you go with Brad I believe he is out of Alabama and more than likely will guide you to Big Bear Creek on PW, And you will need a Alabama license.
Thanks CrappieTop. Maybe next time
