I put in at Kiwanis Park on Merritt Island on Sykes Creek. It was a bit slow (no bites) until 4:45. Caught 7 redfish by 6:00, 3 in the slot, on live shrimp. I also missed a couple bites and had one get off. My Rick Taylor’s PrimeTimes calendar called it.

Nice fish. Is this the same species referred to popularly as Blackened Redfish in the past and perhaps currently? I have tried blackened tuna, blackened steelhead, and blackened rockfish, found all of them to be tasty.

Yes. Justin Wilson got it popular on his cook show. Very tasty fish.
