I am staying at Hood RV park at the confluence of the Snake and Columbia River for a week starting April 30. I would appreciate any input for that area regarding any type of fish. I have a 17 foot Klamath, so I can drive a short distance (less than 1 hr.) to fish another nearby area for a day. Thanks.

That’s up in Catfish Hunter’s (Randy) neighborhood, if you can find a way of contacting him…🐟on

do you actually fish that area yourself? If so, can you recommend any smaller bodies of water nearby as an alternative, if the wind blows us off the big rivers? Thanks so much for your input. Side note: I love perch and crappie for dinner.

You could go up to Scooteney Reservoir, it is about ten miles north of the town of Mesa which is north of Pasco headed to Othello. Used to be good for Bass, Perch, and Crappie too. There is also the little pond on the west side of the Freeway by the Grain Elevator, I used to catch a bunch of fish here when I was younger. But that was a long, long time ago.

Great smallmouth fishing up the Snake all the way to the Grand Rond. In fact, good from the bank on both those rivers of water too fast for your boat. You can drive to the Grand Rond to road end and boat ramp. Mostly jet boats that far up though.

Parts of the lower Columbia allow you to keep Steelhead. I’ve not fished it myself. I have caught a few higher up, but we weren’t allowed to keep them.

Sorry, I didn’t see your post. But you had better info, to share.

The state record Walleye was caught in that area in February. If I remember it was a J14 Rapala on a bottom walker

I caught a couple of nice ones last Summer, but not near that one, that’s a beauty.

Really it's been nice here. I been all over that area Elk hunting and recreating as well as other parts of Idaho. I guarantee your suggestion would definitely not be on the to do list.

I really don’t think that you needed to reply to my post. If you’re so familiar with the area why didn’t you attempt to help bapabear with his request for information… 🐟on

I am not taking sides, but I hope this clears things up and prevents another string of negative vibes. Jeremy has contacted me with private message regarding my trip and even getting out together to fish.

Hey everyone. I know cabin fever is taking it's toll, but let's all direct our frustration elsewear rather than putting a negative spin on this site.

Well, if you read between the lines, you will see that the only reason that he responded to my post was the fact that I suggested maybe trying to contact Catfish Hunter. Otherwise, why didn’t he just PM you in the first place and not respond to my post. His response was totally uncalled for and has an issue with anytime CH’s name comes up. So on another note, bapabear. I hope you enjoy your trip and catch a bunch of fish… 🐟on
