Apparently, I come from a different cut. I enjoy helping others have success. I often tell people what I am having success with as I have often done on this site. I will not give a small fishing spot away, but have no problem giving info like "Lake Whatcom, fishing the riprap with a (lure I am using or used succesfully) ". That should be enough info to get them on fish if they pay attention to what I said. Truth be told, most don't. It is amazing how being open gets me feedback or tips on other areas or successful techniques. The days of secret holes went away with population growth and the popularity of GPS and Fish Finders. Even homemade fish cover is no longer a secret for long.

Sad part is the new electronics show you everything if you know how to use them. I still use old school (using your Brain π§ to store your hard work of finding you secret spots)
Yes have the electronic on my boat and yes I always use them .
Yes I will help people and give them a idea especially to young families πͺ if they have kids .
But some people I will not.
Have a great year on the water and a safe one.
Fished tournβs for 40 yrs. Always shared prefishing info, including lures. Not everything but almost. Since moving here to Montana, I share all of it 100 %. Of course since I only target bass, and everyone here targets trout & salmon, no one asks !!! π

I share everything rig, bait, lake, and where sometimes if a lot of people go there, but if I have a honey hole spot where few or no one goes I am keeping that spot quite. I am not going to bait your hook and clean your fish for you.
Same goes for 'where they biting at'. Always give them someplace you never caught or never fished.

H G, It's kinda like Catch & Release, differing opinions. I'm with you on this issue, but we've got diversity here. Different Strokes. . .
Yeah it's pretty much the same here. But
its mostly when reservoir fishing I like to go with the old Pautzke's balls O fire with the purple lable
I tried to fish in the cabelas fish tank said the same thing he said but they did not buy it

Well, seems that I usually get asked on the bay or pin the ocean, like GPS numbers, how deep, bait orhardware,,I always tell it like it is because if I'm catches um I want the other guy to have some fun too,,usually its halibut or salmon,,,we are lucky with enough to go around, I figure I might be the guy asking next time,,,and I believe in karma,,,,lets get um!!!!!!!
