Moose numbers are definatly down. I'm sure wolves contribute to the fact but disease if another fact

Sandpoint has a few resident moose that live in the city all year long. Getting a tag is difficult but getting a moose is more difficult.

Thank you to all that trap and hunt for wolves! We are from Blanchard area and hunt up at Priest Lake for many years. I was afraid we would not have any game left by now but the trapping and hunting wolves has made a big difference. This is the first year in a long time we have seen more cow moose with calves. The deer are still down and one of the areas we hunted last year was all wolf tracks and few deer. We buy a wolf tag every year but have never used one.

Kinda ironic but I've caught some wolves in the burn by Priest lake. Saw a grizzly up there too
